Welcome Everyone

Welcome to my adventure... Hopefully you'll enjoy reading about my adventures half as much as I enjoy being in them. Here you'll find my blogs about everything I might have a conversation about. So if something doesn't seem to interest you skip to something that does. I am pretty random and eclectic so I am sure there is something for everyone.

For Christmas I Need Hope

I've run out of hope. I see no real future right now. The Church which is supposed to reflect Christ's love seems permanently marred by greed, selfishness, lust for flesh, lust for power, hypocrisy or any other number of abhorrent traits.

Let me paraphrase a thought an English teacher once expressed:

"Artists and dreamers don't see the world as it is but rather as it could be attempting to translate it musically, visually, poetically or in any medium to the world. The tragedy is when the dreams slowly fade and the dreamer is left in this hateful, dreadful reality. Who can survive that?"
I have no dream left. Maybe I'm just a wuss but what is there left to chase?

Peace? Clearly isn't happening in my lifetime.

Charity? I've been doing all I can for 4 years for what impact? Amongst so much greed and violence it all feels lost.

Love? Five years ago I was in a relationship that might have gone somewhere. There's been nothing substantial since.

Family? Without that love I can never be in a functioning family.

Church? Christians?
Every town
Has its ups and downs
Sometimes the ups
Out number the downs
Not in Nottingham

Where is Robin Hood? Where is Jesus? Where is the love?

Chris...Jesus is where He has always been since leaving earth. He sits at the right hand of the Lord God Almighty. He knows the struggles you face and He is hope itself. Cry out to Him and let Him comfort you. When all hope seems lost, He is there.

The work you have done the last four years is not for loss. You have touched many lives around this world and your reward will be great. You are doing the work few Christians want or are able to do. You are a leader among men your age and your compassion to those hurting or in need is overwhelming. As my son, I am so very proud of what you have accomplished.

I love you...DAD

from another dreamer

there is always a dream, but at times we all fail to see it

peace: there is peace, it may be in moments and may not be widespread but there is peace when I am at home and close the door, peace is always there when we let it be

charity: a while back I had a coughing fit in a grocery store and almost dropped my basket, the little old lady next to me pulled out a cough candy and handed it to me, she will never know she made my day when everything else was falling apart, the reality is we can never know the effects of our charity but they are there under the mess of this world

Love: love is there my friend, perhaps at the moment not the kind you crave but there is love, i tend to take it for granted but it is there around you

family: there is more than one kind of family my friend

church, christians: I have full reason to hate the church, but i don't because no matter twisted and corrupt they seem at times, they are people, and people screw up, the beauty is we are forgiven and God will reveal to us our wrongs eventually the church is one massive body of people, and while we screw up, as a whole we are doing good.

There's a perfect dream
my eye's scales make me not see
still its in my heart

I pray you'll be able to see it again soon, your work was not in vain, its is not in vain

love, your brother
Jordan
