Poem For English Class

The assignment on Mon for tomorrow was to write a 4 line poem about love or death without using any cliche phrases, ideas, words and so on. Seems near impossible. Here is my effort so far:

Shattering Glass

significantly sparkly, shiny and sharp
sound sparking slow stalls in stiff sentiment
spiraling specks of shortly sighted shards of sun
spinning, slowing, settling... love

Forgiveness

Today at Jeremiah Community I was in a conversation about the death (murder?) of Osama Bin Laden and the fear mongering constantly backed by the US government and I am now working on choosing out songs to be used in worship this Sunday and our theme is forgiveness. The excessively large American worship industry has turned out almost no songs that go beyond praising God's forgiveness and recognize our call to forgive as stated in the Gospel of Luke (passage below). I wonder if there were more songs about our need to forgive if we would be less apt to destroy our world and waste resources on pointless military endeavours.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.
